| A | Spell correctly common words and relevant key words for work and interests |
| B | Locate words in a dictionary and check spelling and meaning |
| C | Identify prefixes and suffixes in words |
| D | Spell and use common homophones correctly in sentences e.g. their/there/they’re |
| E | Apply strategies for working out the likely spelling of words using spelling rules and patterns learnt. |

| How I will learn & be assessed | | Work in pairs/group or with the whole class, get individual support, work alone on some exercises, do homework, class work and contribute to class discussion.
