What this course is about

(Course aims & objectives)

This 20 lesson course is open to learners who want to learn how to operate a computer confidently and use the Word programme for accurate, professional word processing leading to their first qualification in IT.

 

 

What the course will cover

At the end of the programme, you should be able to:

A Operate the computer equipment and the Word programme independently

 

B Understand ICT instructions.

 

C Practise your Numeracy and Literacy skills.

 

D Type, Edit, Format, Save and Print documents accurately.

 

E Be successful in ICT assessments

 

F Access other IT courses such as CLAIT and CLAIT Plus.

 

How I will learn & be assessed

You will learn thorough listening, speaking, looking at handouts with pictures, watching class demonstrations and doing exercises with the help of your tutor.

Your tutor will mark your printouts and will observe you during the class.

You will do exam style assessments when you are ready.    

Your tutor may also video you to review your learning

 

Will I gain a Qualification?

Yes - a Level 1 eDcc (e-digital computer competence)                Beginner’s Word Certificate.

What could this course lead to?

Much improved confidence and skills and access for you to move on to other IT courses such as CLAIT and CLAIT Plus

Yes, the course costs £20 which includes a USB stick and course materials.
