What this course is about

The aim of the course is to improve your use of word processing using Microsoft Word for Windows 2003, Spreadsheet and the Internet so that you can go forward with confidence, knowledge and a desire to explore other computer tools (or applications)..

What the course will cover

 

At the end of the programme, you should be able to:

A

Turn on, log on, use and shut down the computer safely.

B

Open the Word application and create documents

C

Insert and Delete text, Format Align and Justify, Alter Font and Size, Use Spell Check, Save and Close doc/ programs.

D

Organise folders, subfolders and files. Using Windows Explorer.

E

Make your own finances using spreadsheet application - Excel

F

Do research and find information you need on the Internet

Saturdays 12.30-14.30

How I will learn & be assessed

 

You will receive detailed instruction, exercises and handouts from your tutor. You will be encouraged to discuss your experiences, ask questions and take notes during every lesson to deepen your understanding. Questions are strongly encouraged during the lessons, as they will give you the opportunity to clarify any points with the tutor.

Will I gain a Qualification?

 

No this course is not accredited, but if you wish to take an official examination at the end of the course, please talk to your tutor and she will be able to advise on what to do. But you will obtain in house Certificate

What could this course lead to?

 

This course could gives you access to more advanced accreditation, better employment prospects and inclusion in the current Information technology community.
