What this course is about

(Course aims & objectives)

 

To introduce learners to the English language to enable them to communicate effectively when speaking and writing. To teach the speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to the standard of the Skills for Life E1 examination.

What the course will cover

 

At the end of the programme, you should be able to:

Spell correctly some personal and key words.

B

 

Give and get personal information.

C

 

Write a simple note.

D

 

Use correct language for a variety of different situations.

E

 

Use capital letters and full stops.

F

 

Express likes and dislikes.

Time and Day

 

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30-12:30

How I will learn & be assessed

 

Through class work- individual, pair and group. A variety of techniques are used such as discussion, listening, role play, worksheets and homework. There will be regular assessments testing vocabulary and grammar based on course and homework set. These will be followed by feedback and individual tutorial sessions to discuss strengths and areas for further development.

Will I gain a Qualification?

 

This is a non-accredited course but certificates of completion of the course will be given if required standard of attendance and competence has been achieved.

What could this course lead to?

 

Further studies at SCRC or Lambeth College. Learners are encouraged to progress to higher levels of study.

 

How much does it cost?
